1952

Milchverwertung Osthannover e.G.m.b.H.
was founded in Lüchow from 31 dairies from the administrative districts Lüchow-Dannenberg, Uelzen, Gifhorn and Lüneburg.
1956
The first spray tower was commissioned in Uelzen
1959
Butter production started.
1963
Cocoa-containing milk powder was produced for the first time.

First trade show participation where we displayed new products and an extended mix. Furthermore, we used this opportunity to seek new distribution channels. Our participation at the ANUGA 1962 event was very much a ‘step forward’.


1965
By achieving a milk delivery of 125.9 Mio. Kg, we crossed the 100 kg Mio. threshold.
1966
Start of butter production in the new found butter manufacting plant. 
1963 – 1969
The name Uelzena came about within the sales activities. Initially, this was in conjunction with the name “Ostmilch” but shortly afterwards as an own brand for consumer products in the fresh food area and for instant products.

March 1968
Commissioning of the drying plant V
This saw the spray capacity double to 6,000 kg/h dried food products and the evaporation capacity double from 40,000 to 80,000 l/h.
1972


The previous names of Milchverwertung (1952) and Milchwerke Osthannover (1961) were changed to Uelzena Milchwerke eGmbH.
1974
For the first time, dried products without milk were produced and dried fruit juice powder was added to the assortment.
1983
Production of butterfat began.
1989
Development of light fat and "Melange" butter.
1991
The first beverage powders containing cocoa and coffee were produced.


1991
Founding of the Altmark-Käserei Uelzena GmbH in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, producing sliced Dutch cheese including Gouda 48% fat and Edam 40% fat. These were either naturally produced, foil matured as block goods or in the form of bread.
1990 - 1999
New Opportunities
The company was realigned as a service provider for the food processing industry. The production of such food ingredients as colouring food, flavours, seasoning, baking auxiliary supplies, fruit juice powder, dietary products and others continued.


1995
Adoption of a quality management system (ISO certificate)
1997


The newly constructed butter manufacturing plant in Bismark began operations. Following the completion of the building, the extension of the butter fat facilities in Uelzen commenced. At the same time, the possibility of acquiring Hoche Butter GmbH came about and this saw several technologies and market segments regarding butter and butterfat being integrated into the Uelzena production process.


1998
The new butterfat facility was commissioned in Uelzen. This was extended through cholesterol reduced as well as fractionated butterfat.
1999
Change of name to Uelzena eG.
2000
New certification.
The certification for such special product fields as organic and kosher products as well as balanced diets pursuant to Section 11 and Section 14a of the Dietary Regulation was granted, opening up a number of new markets.
2003

The Schoppe & Schultz GmbH & Co. KG and Grub Café-Handelsges. mbH companies were taken over. Both are specialists in the instant drinks sector.
2005 - 2006

The Trilactis GmbH and WS Warmsener Spezialtitäten GmbH companies were taken over to extend the activities in the sector butter/butterfat.
