Altmark-Käserei
Through the foundation and building of the new Altmark-Käserei, a proud tradition in milk processing in the Altmark has continued.

For the first time in the history of Uelzena, approximately 60 Mio liter. Euros has been invested on the 11 ha wide area for buildings and facilities.

And for a region characterised by dairy farming, the Altmark-Käserei is nowadays a competitive and reliable partner. 300 litres of milk are delivered from Osterburg, Tangermünde, Bismark and Lüchow milk supply cooperatives.  On a daily basis, up to 850 tons of milk are processed for cheese production.

We have 90 employees working on a three shift operation process, ensuring a smooth production flow and contributing greatly to the success of our company.

The decision to invest in the development of the capacity performance of the Altmark-Käserei production facilities proved to be good one. Not only has the 2006 scheduled capacity utilisation of the annual production volume from 30,000 t been achieved, it indeed outperformed it by 345 t. In February 2007, the 300,000th tonne of cheese was produced since the company was founded.

The block and bread form manufactured products are primarily aimed at the food processing industry and the export markets.

In 1997, the production of butter began in Bismark and 50 different items are manufactured today. A special raw material processing is required to meet the demands of the large assortment.
